Anways, HALLO AUS DEUTSCHLAND! (Hello from Germany)
So, it's simply amazing that I'm here! I've been to so many places now but I still just have to stop and take it all in sometimes!
So yea, my flights were great! Nothing happened with me like having to get like tested for symptoms of swine flu or something like I thought. I got to see Milk on the plane so I was super excited for that...btw, if you haven't seen it, SEE IT! haha (I cried at the end). So I got to London Gatwick Airport at like 6:30. When I was back home I decided that I wasn't gonna go into the city cuz I didnt think I would have time but I got through customs and had my luggage by 7! So I decided to take the train into London Victoria Station (it's like Grand Central or Penn Station). And to say it was worth it would be an understatement! London is AMAZING! I was able to see like all the main sights in three hours! Keep in mind, I was walking around with my backpack which was like 15lbs and my suitcase which was about 50! I'm STILL feeling the effects on my shoulders! But yea, it was just so cool. The Brits are pretty nice!...well some! The guy I bought one of my train tickets from was pretty mean. I couldnt understand if he said 'can' ot can't' so when I asked he was like 'we don't say CAN'T (pronounced the American way) here." I was like fiiiiiiine! haha
But I hate the exchange rate!!! It's practically double! I had to buy batteries for my camera and they were £9! That's like 15 bucks for an 8 pack or whatever I got.
I dont remember the flight at all to Düsseldorf cuz I fell asleep the minute I sat down. All I know is that it was great to see Germany again! We only see each other once a year now but it's always the best! It was her, her sister, her best friend, and her dad who picked me up. They are all so nice! (And they all, except for her dad, speak great english!) The German isn't that bad. I understand very little from GRM 101 first semester but its still not bad. I'm used to being somewhere and I understand nothing so I can just tune it out entirely sometimes if I want to hehe. And I finally understand where Germany lives. She lives in the city of Düren which has like 90,000 people. But then Düren also has little villages outside of the city which are still part of the population. And Germ lives in Ecthz, a small village outside of like 800 people hehe. Soyesterday, we went to Cologne and it simply amazing! They have like this huge Gothic cathedral and it's nothing like I have ever seen before! And totay were going to Bonn, the former capital of West Germany. Next week, we're going to Amsterdam!!!!!! =]
Ok, enough writing now. Im gonna go eat breakfast and get ready to go to Bonn.
I'll try to keep posting updated.
Miss ya!
